Two ways to order

Which one you need depends on whether the piece you want already offers it on its own page.

The garment is made the same way either way. The difference is only how the order reaches us and how the price is set: online it is already priced, by email we quote it.

Which pieces offer it online

This list is generated from the shop, so it is current rather than something we remembered to update.

If the piece you want is not on it, that does not mean we cannot make it. It means we have not set that product up for direct ordering yet, so email us instead.

What we ask for

What gets measured depends on what is being cut. The form asks for the set that matches the garment and shows you, on a drawing, where each one is taken — a written label like “front rise” means nothing until you can see it.

Give the measurements you want the finished garment to have, in centimetres — not your body measurements. Garments are cut with ease built in, and how much varies by style, so a body measurement entered as a garment measurement produces something too tight. If you would rather give body measurements, say so and we will add the ease ourselves.

How to take them

You do not need a tailor. You need a soft tape measure, ten minutes, and preferably someone else to help with the back and shoulder measurements.

• Measure over the layer you would normally wear underneath the garment, not over bare skin and not over a thick jumper unless you intend to wear one.
• Keep the tape level and snug, not tight. Do not hold your breath or brace.
• Stand normally with arms relaxed. Measuring in a mirror while twisting is the most common source of error.
• Record in centimetres and do not round.
• Check each number twice before you save it.

Our size chart guide shows which measurements matter for each garment type and how to take them. If you have a garment that already fits the way you want, measuring that flat and sending us the numbers is often more useful than measuring yourself — say which you did.

If you are unsure, send what you have. We would rather ask you for one more number than cut to a guess. We check what arrives, and if something looks inconsistent we will query it before cutting rather than afterwards.

Time and price

Ordered on the product page, the price is the one shown when you pick Custom Size. Cutting a single garment to one set of measurements costs more than pulling a stock size off a shelf, so it differs from the standard sizes, and how much depends on the piece.

Ordered by email, we quote the price and a realistic lead time in writing, both fixed before you commit. No production starts until you have agreed them, and there is no charge for asking.

Either way it takes longer than a stock item, because it is made after you order rather than picked. The lead time depends on the garment, the material and how busy production is.

If you need something for a fixed date — a wedding, a trip, a shoot — tell us before you order. We will say honestly whether it is achievable, and if it is not, we will say so rather than take the order and hope.

Changing an order

Up to the point production starts you can change the measurements, change the specification or cancel. Email us with your order number; we will always tell you when that point is reached, so you are never caught out by a deadline you did not know about.

In practice that means the first 24 hours are comfortable and after that it depends on the queue. If you realise a number is wrong, tell us straight away rather than waiting to be sure.

What to expect from the material

Leather is a natural product. Grain, shade and texture vary between hides and even across a single hide, and two jackets cut from the same specification will not be identical. That variation is a property of genuine leather rather than a flaw, and it is one of the ways you can tell it from a coated synthetic.

Returns: read this before you order

This is the one thing on this page we would ask you not to skim, and it applies the same whether you ordered on the product page or by email.

Goods made to your own measurements or specification are excluded from the 14-day right to change your mind. That exclusion comes from EU consumer law — Article 16 of Directive 2011/83/EU — and exists because a garment cut to one person’s measurements cannot be sold to anyone else. It is not our policy choice and we cannot waive it selectively.

Two things it does not touch:

• Faults. If the garment is badly made, uses the wrong material, or is not what was agreed, the three-year legal guarantee applies in full and we will repair, replace or refund. See consumer rights.
• Changes before cutting. Up to the point production starts you can change the specification or cancel, as above.

A garment made accurately to measurements that turned out to be wrong is not a fault — which is why we query anything that looks inconsistent before we cut, and why it is worth checking each number twice.

Bulk, corporate and trade

We also produce made-to-measure runs: uniforms, teams, events, and retailers offering the service to their own customers under their own name.
